The UBC Campus is situated in Vancouver, on the scenic west coast of Canada. The University´s Finance Division is one of the most renowed in North America.

The main objective of the program is to develop a rigorous understanding of advanced financial and economic concepts and techniques and provide cutting edge tools for careers in banking, funds management, derivative securities, investment banking and underwriting, risk management and corporate treasury functions.

The introduction - 4 Modules:

Basic Finance
Basic Statistics
Basic Accounting
Managerial Economics

These modules are designed for both experts and those making lateral entries. The professional terminology greatly increases the participants´ knowledge of English.

The 11 Finance Modules:
The modules impart extensive understanding of: corporate financing, controlling, capital market analysis, derivative financial instruments, bank management, market micro structure, strategic marketing in the financial sector as well as market regulation. All modules are an exciting and intensive symbiosis of theory and practical training; in other words: a state-of-the-art Finance Program.

Corporate Finance:

Capital Budgeting:
Presents the valuation of long-term capital investments and the implementation of investment decisions. Topics include: adjusted present value, use of option pricing techniques to value real investments, cash flow modelling and estimation, opportunity cost of capital and simulation techniques in investment analysis.
Financial Distress and Reorganization:
The objective of this course is to provide the basis for advanced discussion of the consequences of debt financing. This involves an examination of the advantages of debt and an understanding of how financial distress comes about and is resolved.

Capital Market:

Securities Pricing:
Introduces the concepts of arbitrage and its use for valuation of primary securities and derivatives.
Options and Futures:
Presents the theory and practice of valuing derivatives and managing the risk of fluctuations in the stock and commodity markets.
Empirical Investigations in Finance:
Applying statistical methods to financial market data. Topics include: working with financial data, empirical applications of financial volatility and factor models in finance and financial forecasting.

Financial Institutions & Bank Management:

Institutional Investments:
Analyses, in depth, the management of risk and return of institutional investment portfolios.
Financial Institutions:
Develops a solid understanding of what financial institutions do and why. Topics include: risk management, capital adequacy directive and bank regulation.
International Financial Environment:
The purpose of this course is to describe the foreign exchange (forex) market in which exchange rates are determined and the international financial system governing exchange rate determination.

Practical relevance

The aim of this Finance program is to provide managers or financial consultants with the tools they need to analyse problems in the finance area, to formulate alternative strategies to solve these problems and to reflect on the implications of different strategic options.

Admission/Entrance requirements

Total fees approx.:	€ 23.900,-

Admission Requirements: Academic degree or, in exceptional cases, proof of adequate professional qualification in finance; and additional, a good working knowledge in English. After reviewing the application, we will invite the candidate to a personal interview and a Admission Test (Knowledge Assessment Test of the MBA Center) to evaluate his skills. Students with an official copy of GMAT score (Graduate Management Admission Test) and a TOEFL- score (minimum 550) are not obliged to take the Admission Test of the MBA Center. Additionals: The Danube Business School awards scholarships for its MBA programs. 50% Scholarships "Emerging Markets": Citizen of countries with "emerging markets", especially from Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, can apply for this scholarship. 1/3 scholarship for women: Women can apply for a scholarship of one third of the tuition fee.

Die Donau-Universität Krems ist die einzige staatliche Universität in Europa, die auf postgraduale akademische Weiterbildung spezialisiert ist. Sie bietet exklusive Master-Studiengänge in den Bereichen Wirtschafts- und Managementwissenschaften, Telekommunikation, Information und Medien, Europäische Integration, Umwelt- und Medizinische Wissenschaften sowie Kulturwissenschaften an. Neben hoher Qualität in Lehre, Forschung und Consulting sind Kundenorientierung und Praxisnähe die Markenzeichen des europäischen Modellprojekts. Im Wintersemester 2003/04 waren mehr als 2800 Studierende in über 100 Studiengänge eingeschrieben. Damit ist die Donau-Universität Krems die Nummer eins unter den österreichischen Anbietern akademischer Weiterbildung.

Im Wintersemester 2003/04 laufen an der Donau-Universität Krems mehr als 100 postgraduale Studienprogramme. Die Palette der angebotenen Studiengänge reicht vom "Professional MBA Applied Biomedicine" über EURO-JUS und Solararchitektur bis zu Aufbaustudien in Zahnmedizin. Neu im Programm sind unter anderem das viersemestrige Master-Programm "TV- und Film-Produktion", Lehrgänge in Digitalem Sammlungsmanagement und Multimedia sowie MBA-Programme für Gesundheits- und Pharmamanagement. Daneben bietet die Donau-Universität Krems eine Reihe von Kurzlehrgängen und Seminaren an.

Study in Krems

Krems ist mit seinen 30 Schulen und Hochschulen mit insgesamt mehr als 10.000 SchülerInnen und Studierenden eine traditonelle Schulstadt. Dementsprechend gut ausgestattet ist die Umgebung mit Restaurants, Lokalen, Hotels, Pensionen und Studentenheimen, Freizeit- und Kultureinrichtungen. Die Wachau mit ihrer idyllischen Landschaft, ihren edlen Weinen und den zahlreichen Sportmöglichkeiten trägt zur Lebensqualität der Studierenden der Donau-Universität Krems bei.

Historische Bauten und mittelalterliche Architektur der Stadtteile Krems und Stein verweisen auf eine bedeutende Vergangenheit. Die bereits 995 als "urbs chremisa" erwähnte Stadtgemeinde war ein Zentrum des Salz- und Weinhandels und ist eine der ältesten Städte des Landes.

Durch die mittelalterlichen Gassen spazieren, Wein verkosten im aufgelassenen Kloster, entspannen im Straßencafe und schmunzeln im Karikaturmuseum: Kunst und Kultur lassen sich in Krems erleben. Das internationale Musikfestival Glatt&Verkehrt, das Niederösterreichische Donau-Festival, die Kino-Events der Österreichischen Filmgalerie und die Ausstellungen der international renommierten Kunsthalle Krems sind Höhepunkte im Veranstaltungsprogramm der Stadt. Als Mitglied der Kunstmeile Krems ist die Donau-Universität Krems Fixpunkt der regionalen Kunst- und Kulturszene.

Der Campus der Donau-Universität Krems ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt zum Joggen oder Radfahren, Squash- und Tennisspielen oder für einen Spaziergang durch die Weingärten. Ruderer und Schwimmer können an der nahgelegenen Donau ihren Hobbys nachgehen.
