Programme

The MBA program in Tourism Management has been developed in cooperation with the Executive Academy of the Vienna Univer- sity of Economics and Business (WU), one of Europe’s leading business schools. This joint venture guarantees that academic studies are pursued at the highest level while maintaining busi- ness relevance.

The MBA in Tourism Management builds on Austria’s long-standing tradition as one of the most successful tourism destinations in the world as well as on its expertise in tourism research and development.

The program combines business know-how, the joint resources of Europe’s largest business university and Vienna’s most modern private university in this specialized continuing education program for managers. The knowledge provided is of immediate practical relevance and kept upto- date through manifold scientific research capabilities.


Target audience

Graduates of the MBA in Tourism Management program are entitled to establish and operate a business in the hotel and restaurant industry. Graduates are also entitled to establish and operate a travel agency if they have at least one year of work experience in the tourism industry after graduation.

The MBA is a postgraduate program designed especially for people wanting to further their career in the field of Tourism Management or aspiring to a leadership role in the industry.

Admission/Entrance requirements

 
Total fees approx.: € 28.000,-  
 
Tuition fee:

The tuition fee for the entire Master Program is EUR 28,000.00. The tuition fee includes study material. Travel expenses and accommodation are not included in the tuition fee.

Early Bird Discount:

If the student pays the first instalment before 31st May, then a reduction of EUR 1,000.00 will be granted for the total study fee for the program.

Admision criteria:
  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Economics OR any other equivalent degree plus a minimum of three years’ professional experience. Exceptionally, candidates without a university degree may be admitted, providing they can give evidence of comparable qualifications.
  • Three years of professional work experience.
  • All candidates whose native language is not English and who have not graduated from an undergraduate program conducted in English are required to provide proof of proficiency in the English language by showing that they have passed one of the tests below or by satisfying the Admission Committee in a form deemed appropriate by the Committee.
    • TOEFL 570 PBT or 230 CBT or 88 IBT OR
    • IELTS 6.0 (no sub-score under 5.5)

MODUL University Vienna reserves the right to request that individual applicants submit TOEFL or IELTS scores, even if they have attended a secondary school conducted in English, to ensure their English skills meet the expected academic level.
